Sugar scrubs are simple to make and the ingredients in this Brown Sugar Scrub recipe are easy to find.
Especially during the winter months, our skin gets dry and itchy. Sugar breaks down those layers of dry skin buildup to give you a baby soft surface. It’s an easy fix to rehydrate your skin and keep it conditioned and moisturized.
Scrubs should definitely go in your self-care regime, and they make the perfect little gifts.
Use it on your body, lips, or face. The brown sugar is soft and gentle, and the coconut oil is smooth and creamy….so you won’t have to worry about this scrub being too harsh for any part of your body.
Plus, if you use it on your lips, you’ll have a pleasantly sweet velvety taste left on your lips afterward!
Ingredients
Brown Sugar
Softer than salt, brown sugar is a natural exfoliator and gets rid of outer dry dead skin. This ingredient is what will give you smooth glowing skin after your scrub session. Using this scrub regularly also keeps your skin looking and feeling healthy, due to brown sugar’s unrefined anti-bacterial properties.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is one of nature’s best moisturizers. It’s full of fatty acids that reduce inflammation and keeps your skin moisturized. It also treats acne and creates a barrier that protects your skin from unwanted bacteria.
You can opt for olive oil, almond oil, or grapeseed oil instead, but coconut oil really makes it the most beneficial to your skin.
Make sure to get organic and unrefined.

Vanilla
From vanilla beans, this extract has important antioxidants with anti-aging benefits. It has anti-inflammatory properties that soothe your skin from irritants and damage. It even works to lessen wrinkles and heal weary skin that needs a pick-me-up.
Because of the sweet, warm scent, it’s known to calm your mind for overthinkers and stressed-out days.

You can add any citrus essential oils to this scrub to give it a stronger scent. Some floral oils work in this scrub also.
