Many first-time travelers to Italy aren’t sure what to bring, and it may even be your first trip to Europe in general.

When you travel to Italy, you want to be stylish and comfortable, but also appropriately dressed when in another country.

As you are out roaming the cities or countryside, you will definitely want to be comfortable since you’ll be doing a lot of walking, but also look good. A good pair of comfortable sandals and some cozy linen pants will work. Then when you want to go out to a nice restaurant for dinner, you can jazz up your style a little more with a pretty dress or jumpsuit.

What’s Italy Like In The Summer?

In the summer, the temperature can be mixed from subtropical to warm temperatures. So, you’ll definitely need a swimsuit when you head to the beach! A good summer hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses are always essentials during the hot months.

Italy’s seasons are much like the US. In the summer through June to August, the temperatures will average around 77 F and 86 F (25 C and 30 C). The humidity will be higher in southern Italy, which can make it feel even hotter!

Rain happens frequently in the summertime, so don’t forget your umbrellaΒ and/or raincoat!

Getting Around Italy

Before you get to Italy, why not learn some conversational Italian to practice with the locals? Many Italians speak English, especially in tourist areas. But to be a little more adventurous, it’s fun to try out another country’s language while you are there, and the locals will be impressed that you took the time to learn!

You can take private tutor lessons online, or study Italian on the plane. You can also get an Italian phrase book so you’ll have something to reference when you want to quickly say a few things in Italian, or use a translator app.

Extras To Have With You

When packing, I LOVE to use packing cubes! They make it so easy to organize and separate your things so they don’t get mixed up together and you can find what you need easily. It also keeps your clothes and accessories from sliding around during travel especially when you go through customs.

While you’re abroad in Italy, you should definitely consider having Surfshark with you on your trip. Not only can it help you access all your favorite websites and streaming services without any annoying location-based restrictions, but it’ll also keep your online privacy locked down and secure. So whether you’re sipping on a cappuccino at a quaint cafe in Rome or lounging on the beach in Amalfi, you can feel at ease that Surfshark is keeping you safe online. Plus, it has a user-friendly interface and lightning-fast connection speeds, which will allow you to browse, stream, and download as much as you want. So why not add Surfshark to your packing list and make your trip to Italy even more enjoyable?
